I just released a new social studies differentiated instruction lesson plan on my store http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/American-Revolution-Military-and-Political-Aspects-Differentiated-Lesson-459201. If you are a NYS 7th or 8th grade social studies teacher and you have not checked out this site yet, what are you waiting for?! I follow the NYS 7th and 8th grade social studies curriculum and standards.
The new social studies differentiated instruction lesson plan is called “Military and Political Aspects of the American Revolution”. It includes:
- Lesson Plan
- 3 Ability Levels of Vocabulary Sheets
- 2 Ability Levels of Note Sheets for the Enriched PowerPoint
- Basic Note Sheet for the Basic PowerPoint (Enriched note sheets works for the Basic PowerPoint Version too) The PowerPoint is leveled to incorporate parallel teaching in the classroom. It allows for the enriched students to go into more detail and critical thinking. The Basic level version is simplified which allows students time for repetition.
- Activity Choice Sheet can be given the day before so that the teacher can run enough copies and group appropriately.
- Talk Show Activity with Rubric
- Superhero Story Activity with Rubric
- Board Game Developer Activity with Rubric
The Military and Political Aspects of the Revolutionary War differentiated instruction lesson plan includes the following content in the Leveled PowerPoint that goes with it:
- Washington’s Leadership
- Strategies of the Principle Military Engagements: The Battles
- Role of the Loyalists
- Physical land features affected the outcome of the war
- Advantages and Disadvantages of the Colonies and the British
- Foreign Aid
- Role of Women, African Americans and Native Americans
- Haphazard Occurances of Events: The Human Factor
- Clash between Colonial Authority and the Continental Congress
The essential questions for this social studies differentiated instruction lesson plan are:
- What was the military course of the Revolutionary War?
- What role did leadership, commitment, and luck play in the American victory over the British?
As you can see, differentiated instruction is a major player within my social studies lesson plans. Allow me to plan for you so you can focus on teaching your wonderful students. http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Kasha-Mastrodomenico Check it out!
