What multiple intelligence learning styles are used in a musical skit classroom activity?

Musical Skit Activities use Multiple Intelligence Learning Styles

Multiple intelligence learning styles work together during activities. When students create and perform a musical skit they use the following multiple intelligence learning styles:

  • Kinesthetic multiple intelligence learning style
  • Spatial multiple intelligence learning style
  • Interpersonal multiple intelligence learning style
  • Linguistic multiple intelligence learning style
  • Musical multiple intelligence learning style

The kinesthetic multiple intelligence learning style is used when students practice and perform their skit because of the movement that is required. The spatial multiple intelligence learning style is used when students create the backgrounds, props and garb worn. Musical skits are done in groups which uses the interpersonal multiple intelligence learning style. Musical skits need scripts written also. This brings in the linguistic multiple intelligence learning style. Singing during a skit uses the musical multiple intelligence learning style. It is a fun version of a regular skit. Another version of a musical skit would be doing an opera which is an option middle school students enjoy. Teachers need to be flexible because musical skits in the classroom are rarely, if ever, stage quality.

Teachers can differentiate instruction by offering students more choices of classroom activities that use different multiple intelligence learning styles but focus on the same content.

Skits use Multiple Intelligence Learning Styles

Multiple intelligence learning styles work together during activities. When students create and perform a skit they use the following multiple intelligence learning styles:

  • Kinesthetic multiple intelligence learning style
  • Spatial multiple intelligence learning style
  • Interpersonal multiple intelligence learning style
  • Linguistic multiple intelligence learning style

The kinesthetic multiple intelligence learning style is used while practicing and performing the skit as well as using the props due to the movement required. The spatial multiple intelligence learning style is used when props and backgrounds and garb are designed and created. All skits must have a script to follow so the creation and use of one brings in the linguistic multiple intelligence learning style. Finally, skits are done in cooperative groups which uses the interpersonal multiple intelligence learning style. To add some spice to a skit you make it themed like a horror skit around Halloween which is usually very amusing to watch.

Teachers can differentiate instruction by offering students more choices of classroom activities that use different multiple intelligence learning styles but focus on the same content.

Puppet Shows use Multiple Intelligence Learning Styles

Multiple intelligence learning styles work together during activities. When students create and perform a puppet show they use the following multiple intelligence learning styles:

The spatial multiple intelligence learning style is used when students create the backgrounds and puppets. What multiple intelligence learning styles are used in a maze activity?

Maze Activities use Mulitple Intelligence Learning Styles

Mazes can be used as another form of a timeline. The maze would have to go through the events in the correct order. There are different multiple intelligence learning styles that will be used in this type of classroom activity. The first multiple intelligence learning style is the logical multiple intelligence learning style. The logical multiple intelligence learning style enjoys sequences and order. Another multiple intelligence learning style that is used during a maze classroom activity is spatial multiple intelligence learning style. People with the spatial multiple intelligence learning style enjoy drawing and the artistic nature of creating the maze. The last two multiple intelligence learning styles are intrapersonal and interpersonal. Teachers can give students an option of working by themselves (intrapersonal multiple intelligence learning style) or with a partner (interpersonal multiple intelligence learning style). Teacher can take the classroom activity a step further and bring in the linguistic multiple intelligence learning style by having the students write a paragraph describing how one can beat the maze.

Teachers can differentiate instruction by offering students more choices of classroom activities that use different multiple intelligence learning styles but focus on the same content.

What multiple intelligence learning styles are used in a timeline activity?

Timelines use Multiple Intelligence Learning Styles

Timeline activities use several different multiple intelligence learning styles. The first is the logical multiple intelligence learning style. Putting events in chronological order uses the logical multiple intelligence learning style. The next is the spatial multiple intelligence learning style. The teacher can ask the students to draw a picture to represent each event. The students can also choose between using the interpersonal multiple intelligence learning style(working with a partner) or the intrapersonal multiple intelligence learning style (working by themselves).

Teachers can differentiate instruction by offering students more choices of classroom activities that use the different multiple intelligence learning styles but focus on the same content.

Where can I find a multiple intelligences learning styles test?

Where can I find a multiple intelligence learning styles test?

Multiple intelligences have their own learning styles. For example, the kinesthetic multiple intelligence has the kinesthetic learning style. To find out what multiple intelligence learning style you have, you can take a multiple intelligence learning style test. There are many multiple intelligence learning style tests on the web for free. I created one on http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Kasha-Mastrodomenico/Category/Multiple-Intelligece-Test. You can download it for free. It focuses on Dr. Howard Gardners’ seven original multiple intelligences, kinesthetic, spatial, musical, logical, linguistic, interpersonal and intrapersonal.  After you take the multiple intelligences learning styles test you may realize that you use a number of different multiple intelligence learning styles but one or two are probably going to be stronger than the others.

How can you start integrating learning styles and multiple intelligences in the classroom?

How can you integrate learning styles and multiple intelligences in the classroom?

Before you start integrating learning styles and multiple intelligences in the classroom, you need to have your students take a multiple intelligences learning styles test. You can find a multiple intelligences learning styles test at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Kasha-Mastrodomenico/Category/Multiple-Intelligece-Test. Finding out what multiple intelligence learning styles your students have helps you plan better for them. For example, if no student your class has a musical learning style then your will be wasting your time creating a musical version of your mini-lesson. Once you know what multiple intelligence learning styles your students have, then you can start integrating learning styles and multiple intelligences  into your mini-lessons. Try to integrate learning styles and multiple intelligences  that are represented in your classroom.

You may notice your own creativity increasing because you will be looking at your lessons from different perspectives as you begin integrating learning styles and multiple intelligences. To make the planning process faster, you can also get 55 activity templates that are based on the Multiple Intelligence Theory and learning styles at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Kasha-Mastrodomenico/Category/Activity-Templates-and-Rubrics. These can be a huge time saver and even come with rubrics for each!
